With her dynamic energy and engaging teaching style, she will guide you through traditional bachata techniques, bachata fusion, bachazouk, and follower styling. Lasinhaa is beloved by dancers of all backgrounds, making her classes an experience you won’t want to miss!
From August to end of September, we’re excited to host Gioia, a four-time World Champion Jack & Jill from Italy. With a rich background in bachata, she excels in both leading and following. Having taught with some of the world’s best artists, Gioia currently teaches at a prestigious dance academy in Barcelona. She will be joined by Alex Hernandez, a Baychata certified instructor and Bachata Sensual Certified Instructor. Together, they’ll introduce you to new dance styles that will elevate your bachata skills!
This fall, we’re honored to welcome renowned bachata artists Angel Garcia and his partner Ainhoa as our resident instructors for the next 12 months. With top credentials from Spain and numerous awards for their captivating performances, Angel and Ainhoa are versatile dancers in Bachata Sensual. They will cover a wide range of topics, including flow, cadence, musicality, and styling.
We have two convenient locations in San Francisco (Sunset Movement Arts studio) and San Jose (Tingna Dance Studio) to accommodate dancers from both regions. Each course meets once a week
Bachata Sensual Techniques (SJ) focuses on developing body awareness, connection, musicality, and fluid movement through the foundations of Bachata Sensual. Students will learn proper body mechanics, posture, lead and follow principles, weight transfer, isolation techniques, waves, body rolls, and partner connection. The syllabus emphasizes safe execution of movements, clear communication between partners, timing, and musical interpretation while building technical precision and social dance confidence. Classes progressively integrate combinations, transitions, and styling rooted in authentic Bachata Sensual methodology to enhance both individual expression and partnerwork dynamics.
Urban Styles focuses on blending traditional bachata foundations with modern urban movement influences to create a dynamic and expressive dance style. Students will develop musicality, body movement, footwork, styling, and partner connection while exploring elements inspired by hip hop, contemporary, and commercial dance. The syllabus emphasizes rhythm interpretation, isolations, texture, performance quality, and creativity in both solo and partnerwork settings. Classes progressively integrate combinations, styling variations, musical accents, and freestyle concepts to help dancers build confidence, versatility, and personal expression on the social dance floor and stage.
Bachazouk focuses on the fusion of Bachata and Brazilian Zouk techniques, combining fluid body movement, musicality, connection, and dynamic partnerwork. Students will develop foundational concepts such as posture, frame, weight transfer, body isolations, waves, head movement technique, and lead-and-follow communication. The syllabus emphasizes smooth transitions, elasticity, flow, and safe execution of movements while encouraging creativity and musical interpretation. Classes progressively integrate patterns, movement quality, and fusion concepts to help dancers build versatility, connection, and confidence in both social and performance settings.
Body Movement & Hips focuses on developing body awareness, coordination, mobility, and fluidity through fundamental movement techniques used in Latin and urban dance styles. Students will explore hip motion, isolations, body rolls, weight transfer, posture, and rhythmic movement while improving balance, control, and musicality. The syllabus emphasizes proper body mechanics, movement efficiency, and confidence in individual expression. Classes progressively incorporate drills, styling exercises, and musical interpretation to help dancers develop smoother movement quality, stronger technique, and greater freedom of expression on the dance floor.
Follower Styling ocuses on enhancing technique, musicality, confidence, and self-expression within partner dancing. Students will develop arm styling, body movement, footwork variations, spins, lines, timing, and movement texture while learning how to style naturally without disrupting partner connection or timing. The syllabus emphasizes posture, balance, coordination, musical interpretation, and fluid transitions to help followers add individuality and performance quality to their dancing. Classes progressively integrate styling combinations, musical accents, and freestyle concepts to strengthen technique, creativity, and overall dance presence in both social and performance settings.
